Surfing Mazatlan ... Most people don't realize that there is good surf to be had in Mazatlan. The best surfing spot in Mazatlan is Playa Brujas. Playa Brujas (or Brujas Beach, or just Brujas), is a short 15-20 min drive from Mazatlan's City Centre. The swell is fairly consistant at about 3-6 feet and surprisingly uncrowded. There is very little local attitude in the surf and 1 or 2 boards are available for rent right on the beach.

Other than Playa Brujas, decent surfing can be found on Stone Island and right in the Zona Dorada on particular days. On flat days, with no swell, most beaches offer flat enough beaches for skimboarding. Surf Boards, Body Boards and Skim Boards can be rented in town or at the beach for about 10 per day.
